Melody Javaheri is not your average American Princess. At the mere age of 15, between mid terms, finals and teenage drama, Melody started designing her own clothing line, GorgeousLuv, which instantly became a household name among celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Ashley Tisdale. Supported by her family and friends, Melody, 19, plunged into immediate success in the fashion industry, and she did it all by herself. Now in her third year at FIDM majoring in Merchandise Product Development, the LA born and raised fashionista is hoping to turn GorgeousLuv into an international success. Read on to see what Melody had to say about being a young designer, celebrities and her future aspirations.

1. How did you get into fashion design?

My passion for fashion started when I was very young from having little fashion shows with my cousins to taking any piece of clothing and tearing it apart, dyeing it, painting it, adding crystals to it. I did absolutely anything and everything. I have always had huge dreams of what I want to do in life and being the youngest fashion designer was always at the top of the list. When I was 15 I started thinking that I was getting to old and I couldn’t sit around and do nothing. I had to get up and get creative. I hand-made a few samples of tank-tops and took it to a boutique called Jacqueline Jarrot at the Beverly Center and in a matter of one week they were sold out and Paris Hilton had loved my line and they wanted me to make more. After that the line grew and was recognized by many celebrities and the public. It allowed me to branch off and sell into many boutiques around Los Angeles and on my own website.

2. How did you get the opportunity to put your clothes in Jacqueline Jarrot?

I made an appointment with their buyer and she absolutely loved my line and ordered it right away.

3. How did you come up with the name 'GorgeousLuv'?

I absolutely love the word Gorgeous. It has always been my favorite word; it always puts a smile on my face.

4. Tell me a little about your fashion label.

The clothing is casual wear for women in their young teens to adults. All garments are adorned with creative prints, slogans, and Swarovski crystals to add a touch of glamour and GorgeousLuv to everyday lives. GorgeousLuv is all about women empowerment and having every woman feel confident and gorgeous while wearing GorgeousLuv. Every woman wants and deserves to feel gorgeous inside and out, and GorgeousLuv is the perfect clothing line to satisfy all those needs.

5. Did you design the graphics yourself?

Yes I did and I still do. I take inspiration from everything around me.

6. How do you balance being a fashion designer and being a college student?

I just have learned to keep organized and use my time wisely.

7. How does it feel to have celebrities like Paris Hilton and Ashley Tisdale wearing your designs?

Honestly there is no way to explain the feeling. It’s like when a musician hears their song on the radio for the first time, it is somewhat of an out of body feeling where you question it and say “Is that really so and so wearing my GorgeousLuv jacket?!” It truly is very exciting.

8. What is your favourite product and why?

My favourite product is my white zip hoodie that says “Trust me I’m Gorgeous” in hot pink font. It always gets a great laugh out of everyone and it is definitely my best seller.

9. If you could design an outfit for anyone, who would it be and why?

If I could design an outfit for anyone I would have to pick Kim Kardashian because that girl knows how to rock confidence and that is what GorgeousLuv is all about.

10. What's been the best thing that’s happened to you so far?

The best thing that’s happened so far is for me to be 20 years old and say that I have made my dream come true all by myself with the support of my parents. To be recognised for something that I poured my whole heart into is truly the best feeling ever.

11. Where are your products available to buy from?

You can find everything on my website www.GorgeousLuv.com. But they are also available in some boutiques around Los Angeles such as Kitson, Samira’s Closet, Envie and Yellow Dog.

12. What do you hope to achieve in the next few years?

I hope to have GorgeousLuv sold all around the world and maybe even open my own boutique.

13. What do you plan on doing once you graduate from college?

After I graduate college I plan on working even harder on my clothing line and give my whole heart and attention to it. I would love to travel and be inspired by the world and bring it back and incorporate that into GorgeousLuv. I want GorgeousLuv to be all over the world and a house hold word. I want women everywhere to be gorgeous, feel gorgeous, and keep it gorgeous!

ProudRace are an independent fashion label from Manila, Philippines. Here's what the edgy designers had to say about their showbiz past, their perfect present and their fashion forward future...

1. How did you get into fashion design?

P&R - We come from two completely different backgrounds and none of us took up formal training in fashion. We started out 2 years ago with a shirt line of the same name. We've always loved clothes and one thing led to another and here we are already promoting our third collection.

2. Tell me about your brand

P - Proudrace is about having a sense of humor and not being overtly serious with things.

R - Very ambiguous and our pieces are very easy to incorporate into an existing wardrobe

3. How did you come up with the name ProudRace?

P - Proudrace is a product of plain wordplay. As much as we want to say that our name came out of nationalistic intentions, it did not. We were just playing around with words. But when we started getting attention as a brand from manila, the whole name just became more significant to us because we really are proud of our race.

R - We always this question and it's always hard to answer it as far as i can remember it was just a play on words and now we just love that we kept the name because it just more significant now than before.

4. What's the story behind your fall/winter 2010 collection.

P&R - Our holiday 2010 collection is all about goth girls and grunge boys, a very prominent style in the '90s, an era that's always been a constant inspiration for the label. We played around with textures and the silhouettes and kept everything simple.

5. Your collection is mainly black and red...why did you choose those colours?

P - We've always been partial to blacks, greys and other neutrals but this time we decided to add a bit of color.

R - It felt like we just had to do something we've never done before and red is the last color that people would expect from us.

6. What's your favourite piece and why?

R - I love the bodycon dresses with trains.

P - The four arms button downs is my favourite.

7. Who is your favourite designer?

R - It's hard to pick but I've always been fascinated with Rick Owens' and Martin Margiela's aesthetics. Jeremy Scott is a constant favourite.

8. What do you hope to achieve in the future?

P & R - More stockists! Hahaha. We hope to expand around Asia and Europe and to get more people to understand the look and the feel of the label.

9. Tell my readers something no one knows about you.

P&R - We were child pop stars way back when.

I am not a fan of the winter.

Growing up in London I’ve learnt to associate winter with short, cold, rainy days and long, dark, chilly nights. I also always come down with a cold! To avoid sounding like a total cynic, there are some things I do enjoy doing during the winter one of which is curling up on the sofa (wrapped up in blankets of course!) while drinking hot chocolate and watching a nice romantic movie.

Most importantly however, the impending wintery season gives me an excuse to go shopping for new key items to add to my forever expanding winter wardrobe.

Obviously, it’s impossible to purchase a whole new winter wardrobe, however, if you are going to invest your money in something this winter, it must be a coat!

This season you have a choice of five fabulous coats that will instantly send you into the wintery season with a fantastic fashion forward flawless look.

Trench Coat

The trendy trench coat remains in fashion every winter. It’s slick, subtle and simple; perfect for a demure day look with a chic edge. The style is available for both men and women, and achieves the same lavish look for both.

The hard shoulders and contrasted metallic and wool textures look fantastic. Camel Coat

Classic Camel coats are for women who embody elegance and exude confidence. Camel coats work well with both dressed down and formal outfits.

Why not combine both the trench and camel coat trend with this gorgeous camel trench £80 coat from Topshop? It’s nicely fitted and has a bold belt at the waist. I also adore this £75 wool hooded duffel coat f rom asos.com which is also available in 5 other colours.

Military Coat

Military coats are a must have this season! The sharp bold buttons and super hard shoulders give a divine and defined look to every outfit. Military style coats have been in fashion before and I believe they'll be in fashion again, so it's a great idea to invest your money in one.

I instantly fell in love with this £100 velvet military coat from asos.com. It comes with a belt and is available in both khaki and navy. It's really sharp and edgy..I think it's fantastic. New Look have this really cool military leatherette jacket for £39.99 which looks great paired with leggings or skinny jeans.

Capes

Forget super hero and think super chic. Capes have a flowy and feminine feel to them, and with the array of different fabrics available, you'll be lost for choice!

Matalan have this fantastic brushed check button cape for £30.00. It really is a must have this season. Oli.co.uk also have this sultry and sophisticated polo knitted cape for £60.00 which is perfect for any casual occasion.

Aviator Coats

These fun, fashionable and often furry coats look fantastic paired with skinny jeans or slim fit trousers. If you're curvy then I would ensure that the aviator coat you choose doesn't fall directly on your hips as you'd end up looking wider than you actually are.

Boohoo.com have an amazing selection of aviator coats, however, the £45 Julie Shearling aviator gilet stood out for me the most. It oozes sleek sophistication and prim perfection. Zara also do a simple and casual aviator zipped jacket for £39.99 available in brown, blue and camel.

Exclusive interview with Project Runway's Korto Momolu

Project Runway's season 5 fan favourite and first runner up, Korto Momolu , is feeling fantastic this season, and there's no reason why she shouldn't. Famous for her use of rich fabrics and her African inspired pieces, the fierce designer was back at New York Fashion Week last week showing her stunning Spring 2011 Collection. Aside from her Korto Momolu Collection, she's launched 4 hot head turning lines and has been named "fashion designer to watch" by New York Magazine.

Here's how I caught up with the fabulous fashion designer...

1. What have you been up to since Project Runway?

I've been developing several lines and establishing my brand. The Korto Momolu brand now consists of:

-The Korto Momolu Collection (Ready to wear, custom designs, and one-of-a-kind accessories)

-Korto Momolu for Dillard's (A new line of signature handbags and accessories designed by Korto Momolu that are available at select Dillard's Department Stores and Dillards.com)

-The Saba Collection (Saba, which means gift in my native language, is an exclusive line of fashionable eco-friendly jewelry. It's a collaboration inspired by the beauty of the wood, the environmental conscience and the social history behind our products.

-Korto Momolu for SanLori, a new line of stationary and gift products targeting the fashion forward woman (Launched at 2011 Spring Collection Show)

-Korto Momolu for JHS, a collection of fine jewelry to accent everyday wear (Launched at Spring Collection Show

2. How does it feel to be named "fashion designer to watch" by New York Magazine?

It's a great honour. It shows that I'm a recognised brand, and my fashion is recognisable within the fashion industry. I still have a long way to go, but it's encouraging to know that people appreciate the work I do, and fashion editors are taking note also. I really appreciate them, and that's always why I will try and accommodate all those editors and writers.

3. Tell me about your Korto Momolu 2011 Spring Collection.

The 2011 Spring Collection is a mixture of feminine silhouettes, rich flowing fabrics and pleated embellishments that meld perfectly together to create a high fashion glam look.

4. How do you feel you've grown as a designer since Project Runway

I've grown in many ways. For instance, my Spring 2011 collection is nothing similar that people have seen from me before. And I tried to implement new ideas and new experiences every time I create a collection.

5. Do you still get nervous before you show at New York Fashion Week, and if so how do you deal with your nerves?

Yes I do!!! I deal with nerves from learning from my mother. During all that we went through in Liberia (Korto's family fled her native country Liberia, West Africa 20 years ago due to a Civil War), I saw her strength; her calmness, and how she deals with adversities. I adopted those same traits, and try to be calm before, during and after a show because if I display uneasiness, then my team will be unraveled.

London Fashion Week : Ana Sekularac

London Fashion Week has officially begun and I can barely contain my excitement!!

Today I was lucky enough to go to the film presentation of Ana Sekularac's Spring/Summer 2011 collection, which was absolutely breathtaking...

Ana is a British designer of Serbian origin. Starting off her career as a model at 19, Ana moved on to become first assistant to the editor of Cosmopolitan in Italy, and then part of the fashion desk at The Daily Telegraph. Ana launched her brand Ana Sekularac in London in 2007 and has become a world known fashion designer ever since. Her clients include Anna Friel, Victoria Beckham and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas.

Her Spring/Summer 2011 collection, "The Phase" is beautiful; I instantly fell in love with it.

Ana's collection is solely black and white, which in a way bestows an air of simplicity to her collection, however, it is instantly juxtaposed with the immense intricacy of her designs.

From the perfectly pleated cotton skirts to the delicately draped chiffon detailing to the fascinating elaborate hand work, "The Phase" is nothing like you've ever seen before.

All her pieces are perfectly constructed, carry an aura of elegance and sophistication and complement the female figure.

Consisting of mainly of skirts and dresses, all of Ana's pieces are wearable.

The fact that Ana decided to produce a short film displaying her collection as opposed to a regular catwalk show illustrates her uniqueness as a designer. The film is set on an open street and features 5 different models walking with confidence in Ana's stunning pieces. All the models have their hair pinned back, minimal make up but striking red lipstick. I believe it really is the perfect way for Ana to show her new collection.

What inspired your collection?

"The inspiration first came with the idea of a video. I had the complete collection in my mind but I hadn't done anything. I started with the video, so I started in the opposite way. After the video I started doing the sketches, the pattern cutting and all the rest."

"I really wanted to show what personifies the emotions of the woman who's wearing the clothes, which is very important. I think my clothes are like a medium, like a tool a woman can use to express herself. It's not the other way around. So when you're wearing it you can really express your emotions and feelings without feeling restricted by the clothes. It's like a tool to be yourself."

Why did you decide to shoot a video?

"I think that was the only way to show the inspiration. I didn't do it to do something different, I didn't do it because I have something against the classical catwalk show which can be beautiful. The only way to express these emotions through the cut of the clothes, through the details, through the walk, through the movement of the details and through the woman wearing it. So you had to have a video to see that."

What is your favourite piece?

"I don't have a favourite piece. I never have a favourite piece. It's difficult to decide. I like every single piece that I made."

Ashley Greene

Best known for her role as vampire Alice Cullen in Twilight, Ashley Greene is climbing up the fashion ladder fast...and she's looking absolutely flawless.

Earlier this week at the VMA's, Ashley wore this beautiful black and white Giambattista Valli dress paired with sexy Jimmy Choo heels. The black bodice of the dress was layered with luscious lace while the white skirt was delicately draped with a simple knot on top.

SIDE NOTE: Giambattista Valli's Summer 2011 collection is sensational. There's a mix of black and white polished pieces, a lot of animal print and a hint of draping. All the pieces ooze sleek sophistication. It's definitely worth checking out.

Later on in the week Ashley was spotted wearing a gorgeous green dress paired with fabulous shoes to the Donna Karan show at New York Fashion Week. With her hair draped to the side, Ashley simply looked stunning.

Ashley's got the critics going crazy over her fashion and I understand why. Watch this space.

GaGa wears a meaty dress to the VMA's

Notoriously known for the outrageous costumes and hair styles she dons on a daily basis, Lady GaGa really outdid herself at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night by wearing a dress, hat, bag and shoes made out of raw meat.

Yes, you read correctly, raw meat.

Since the starlet hit our screens back in 2008 she's dominated the fashion pages with her wacky and weird ensembles, however, the eccentric outfits she's worn in the past seem pretty normal compared to this one..Bizarre is simply an understatement.

Franc Fernandez, a designer from Los Angeles, was behind this morbid attire. He told MTV he used 50 pounds of Argentinian steak to create the outfit, and it took him 3 days to make!

Animal welfare groups including PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) are outraged at GaGa's meat costume, as are others.

In a statement PETA said: "Wearing a dress made out of cuts of dead cows is offensive enough to bring comment, but someone should whisper in her ear that there are more people who are upset by butchery than who are impressed by it."

In her defense, GaGa claimed that her costume was a protest against the way the American army treat gay soldiers...gay, lesbian and transsexual people can serve in the army so long as they don't reveal their sexual orientation.

During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which took place after the VMA's, GaGa said: "If we don't stand up for what we believe in and don't stand up for our rights pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones."

I understand GaGa's concern and meaning behind her outfit, but I still think she went a little too far this time. Surely there are other ways she could have got her point across without making such a show... but then again, it's Lady GaGa.

Roarrr: Animal Print

This season is all about making a statement with playful animal prints. The great thing about animal prints is that they are always in fashion, so you can really invest in a timeless print piece.

The key to wearing this trend with a fashion forward attitude is to choose one eye poping animal print to go with your outfit, which will essentially make your outfit.

My favourite animal print piece at the moment are my leopard print ankle boots from Dune. They are perfect paired with black leggins, skinny jeans or a LBD.
Another animal print piece that I love is my leopard print belt from Primark. I wear it to dress up a plain dress or slim fit jeans. Always works perfectly!

After a stressful six months of studying and cramming for my final year exams, and three months of summer and travelling I am happy to say that showmeyourstyle101 is back on track!

Interview: Fashionista Dar Mashiah

Undoubtedly known for choosing comfort over style, the Israeli fashion sense isn’t one to really go by. For most Israelis, a tee-shirt and jeans will do for both work and a bar mitzvah, it’s comfortable remember? However, tucked away in Haifa is Israel’s answer to high street flawless fashion; internet project manager, Dar Mashiah.

Q-Tell me a little about your blog.
A-I started my blog 2 years ago and looking back I have to say it has totally changed my life. When I began, "back in the day", there were only a few Israeli fashion blogs and most of them were street fashion - a photographer taking pictures of interestingly and well dressed people on the streets, usually in Tel-Aviv. I hadn’t seen any blogs of Israelis who mainly took pictures of themselves and their own wardrobe. So, as the fashionista I was and am, I decided to start a blog. In the beginning there were no readers or comments, but I kept on going because I liked it and I enjoyed sharing my inspiration. As time passed, more and more people discovered my blog. There were press items and the blog became pretty well known here. A lot of the readers have started blogs of their own and now there is a pretty big fashion blogger community here in Israel, which is great!

Q-What inspires your looks?
A-I think most of all it’s my mood which inspires my looks. I wake up and think how do I feel today and how would I like to look today? Some days I want to have a more edgy look, some days romantic, and some days casual - but I always try to keep it interesting for myself.

Q-Which designers inspire and you and why?
A-I am inspired by Marc Jacobs - I like the element of surprise and fun in his designs. I also love Stella McCartney’s edgy-feminine designs, and Rick Owens silhouettes which look like they were taken from a very distant ancient era. I also love Givenchy! Riccardo Tisci's last collection was mind-blowing: amazing geometric prints, structured pieces and breathtaking jackets.

Q-Why did you turn down jobs in the fashion industry?
A-The proposals I got were mainly in the fashion journalism field.
The reason I turned those offers down was because those jobs don’t pay very well. I don't think junior fashion journalists and writers get rewarded enough, it’s a very small field (there is no Vogue or Elle in Israel) and there are only a few (and by few I mean like less than 5) jobs you can aspire to. I didn't want to go in that direction and barely make a living, and have to wait many many years until I would maybe get the chance to become an editor, so I turned it down. I definitely see my future in the internet.

Q-What do you hope to achieve in the future?
A- I hope to continue sharing my inspiration and enjoying it. I also hope to continue creating quality content which people can relate to and appreciate. I would like to see Israeli fashion take a bigger place in the worldwide fashion map and hope that Israeli fashion blogs will be recognized among the top fashion blogs in the world, in the near future.

One of the biggest trends this season is dogtooth, and I'm loving it.

Alexander McQueen totally rocked this fashion fad in his autumn/winter 09 collection, from gorgeous dogtooth suits to retro dogtooth leggigns to sexy dogtooth dresses.

I love Alexander McQueen's edgy take on the dogtooth trend. It's perfect for any winter occassion, and it adds a little funkiness to every outfit. Wear it with attitude and you're good to go!

Interview: Fashion designer - Bella Bambina

Young British fashion designer, Gabriella , 22, is the face behind the new head turning hairbands - Bella Bambina. She started off with a fashion foundation diploma, moved to NYC for two years and now works for Guess; Gabriella is certainly on the right fashion track. Having that cool creative spark with her Persian, Israeli and Italian culture, Gabriella has always been interested in fashion and design. She individually designs and produces each hairband herself, and they all come at a fantastic price ranging from £6.50-£25.00.

Q-How did you get into fashion design?
A-I have always been very creative and I took an abnormal interest in fashion from a very young age. I also love thinking up visual concepts both on a small scale i.e. with my hair accessories line (Bella Bambina) as well as in a much wider context.

Q-Tell me about your brand.
A-Bella Bambina is literally in its baby stages. It has just launched on a very small scale but there is room for a much bigger impact. The hair accessories are aimed at girls and ladies of all ages, who want a little boost, something pretty and fun and versatile that can change their look instantly without breaking the bank. I think the UK market is definitely open to a brand like Bella Bambina because there isn’t too much choice out there at the moment!

Q-How did you come up with the name?
A-Cultural influence. Bella Bambina (Bella was my childhood nickname) means beautiful, and Bambina means girl in Italian. That is what the brand is all about; femininity, and making oneself feel a little bit more special. Each piece is one of a kind, so when you buy an item, you know you won’t walk down the street and see someone else wearing the exact same piece as you. I think people want a bit of individuality at the moment – everything is so mass produced these days!

Q-What is your favourite piece?
A-My favourite piece from the Bella Bambina A/W Pre Collection is the Bella Bambina Signature look ”Bella 1” (left). It is available in almost every color. It is simple and chic, special enough to make a girl feel great and at £8 it is incredible value! It speaks for itself without being overly individual. I am also really excited about the hats that will be available in the main collection!

Q-What do you hope to achieve in the next few years?
A-I hope that the brand will grow. It really is in its early stages so we will see where the road takes us. My long-term goal, something I hope to be working on within the next 2 years, is opening my own boutique. G-d willing we will be having another sit down soon to discuss that progression!

Q-What is your philosophy?

Over the past few weeks I've developed a style crush on Olivia Palermo. For those of you who don't know, Olivia Palermo is part of the cast of The City, a reality TV show on MTV.

I haven't really been following The City, so I don't really know what Olivia is like (although I've heard she's umm well not very nice!), however, she does have an impeccable dress sense.

She looks perfect in every outfit whether it be chic, boho, sexy, or grunge. This girl has got serious style.

Luscious lace layered with a little sparkle

I’m the type of girl who likes to look trendy all the time. Whether I’m going to university, out with friends for dinner or to a party, I always like to look like I’ve made an effort with my outfit. Today I decided to go for a chic yet casual look by wearing a black top with soft white lace paired with skinny jeans.

The reason I chose this top is because lace is sexy and sumptuous and all over the catwalk this season. The amazing thing about lace is that it works for everyday wear as well as evening elegance. The alluring yet demure look lace gives makes any woman look seriously chic with sassy style.

In order to vamp up my look I decided to pair my outfit with a black sequin jacket (my favourite statement piece) and sexy sky scrapper ankle boots. I'm very happy with the outcome, what do you think?

Transformer tights

This season is all about trendy tights totally transforming any outfit from simple to stylish.

The purple dress I'm wearing on the right is cute and simple with beautiful beading on the shoulders. In order to spruce up my outfit, I decided to pair it with black dogtooth tights and ankle boots. (I also wore a very tight black dress underneath to add some length to the dress...it was a bit too short for me!)

I think the tights added a cool retro chic edge to my outfit which I really loved. The great thing about these tights is that they go with all sorts of outfits whether it be smart or casual, night or day wear.

They come in different patterns such as lace and criss cross so you'll definitely find a pair to suit your style.

I love love love these pink heart tights I'm wearing on the left. I think they're so cute, and really give my outfit that super girly loved up look. (Please excuse my weird facial expression, I'm not much of a poser!)

These tights go perfectly with an all black outfit, or a black outfit with a bit of pink like a cardigan or jewellery.

Tarten tights are also really big this season. On the right I've paired them with a simple black dress and knee high boots. It gives a bit of attitude to what would have been a very simple and casual outfit.

Trendy fashion design student from Singapore, Linda Hao, is taking the fashion world by storm. Owner, designer and producer of fashion label LHLY, Linda is well on her way to becoming a fashion superstar. Read on to see what Linda had to say about her label and latest obsessions!

Q-How did you get into fashion design?
A-Doing fashion has always been my dream, and so once I got the chance to study it, I wanted to learn anything and everything about it.

Q-What inspires your designs?
A-I like to wander on the streets alone and simply watch people and human behaviour. Architecture and books also contribute to my everyday inspirations.

Q-Tell me about it your fashion label.
A-My label is LHLY, and it is created from the initials of my name (Linda Hao Liyuan). It represents who I really am and what I want people to be influenced by. I design a lot of clothes that I like to see girls wearing, however not necessarily things that I would wear myself. Most of my stuff consists of very vibrant in colours. They are available on my website, and I sell internationally.

Q-If you could design an outfit for anyone, who would it be and why?
A-I would say Ai Tominaga as she is my favourite model.

Q-Tell me about your latest obsession?
A-My latest obsession is dresses with ruffled shoulders. I can't control my spending if I see those dress or tops.

Q-Who are your favourite designers?
A-Gareth Pugh, Sonia Rykiel, Meadham Kirchhoff, Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs...

Q-What do you hope to achieve in the next few years?
A-I hope that LHLY will do well and gain more exposure by having consignments in boutiques or having a store of its own.

Last night I waited with great anticipation to see what the fashion obsessed X factor judge Cheryl Cole would be wearing on the show. Instead of being shocked by her outfit, I was stunned to see Cheryl without her hair extensions! I suppose this didn't come as much of a surprise seeing as there's been so much controversy over Cheryl's hair extensions this past week. The Daily Mail featured several articles on Cheryl's fake appearance, and how wrong it is that she's promoting L'Oreal shampoo while wearing fake hair. It's simply not right.

Could this be the reason behind Cheryl ditching the hair extensions? Well, I quite like her new look. I think she looks more elegant.

She's got the glam factor

With a head turning unique sense of style, this fierce fashionista is dressed to impress.

She looks so trendy I don't even know where to begin! The thing I love most about her look is that shes used so many different accessories to really add some funkiness to her outfit.

For starters, I love the yellow flower she's wearing on the side of her head. It's so big and bright and she wears it with cool confidence. She is also really setting a statement by wearing her hair in two massive side quiffs! Very daring, yet she pulls it off.

Her Chanel earrings, pearl necklace and classic big black bag bring pure elegance to her outfit.

I also think it's great how shes accessorized with her belt by wearing it across her green buttoned up cardigan. It's simple yet injects a dramatic colour into her outfit. Also, belts are really in this season, and can clearly totally spruce up any look.

She is certainly fashion forward wrapped up in her light camel skin coat with faux fur. Dainty yet dramatic.

My favourite part of her ensemble are her leopard print loafers. They are just too cool. I think I might treat myself to a pair!

What else can I say? This girl clearly embraces her unique style by mixing up all the latest trends and producing a fantastic ensemble. I simply love it! Do you agree? Or is her look a little too dramatic for you? Tell me what you think!

Interview: Fashion designer - Zozocouture

Zoe is a 19 - year - old fashion designer from downtown LA, with an exotic mix of French, Vietnamese and Mexican heritage. Designing and making clothes from the mere age of 9, Zoes career has gone from strength to strength. Also a model and hair stylist, Zoe is currently concentrating on her fashion label Zozocouture. Read on to see what Zoe told me about her path to fashion and what she hopes to achieve in the future...

Q-How did you get into fashion design?
A-Well, some of my earliest memories were when my mom made my baby blanket with her sewing machine when I was 2, and taught me how to thread a manual needle and sew two pieces of cloth together. I would always play around with different patchwork ideas and try to get the concept of shapes in clothing by making doll's clothes.
When I turned 9, I got my first sewing machine, but it was really cheap so it jammed a lot. I started making cosplay outfits for different animes (a style of animation developed in Japan) - I am a nerd at heart. When I was about 13, I lived with my dad, and we were so poor, I would go to the swap meet and get clothing and fabric (like $1 a yard) and I would make clothes, or alter them. Of course my skills weren't that great but I learned a lot about being resourceful, and now I am where I am today.

Q-What inspires your designs?
A-I have a lot of French and Japanese influence in my designs. I love the way the Japanese make clothes. It’s all about a little detail and a bit of hand sewing involved, and they don't skimp on artistic vision. The French are so bold and yet classic, nothing quite like it. I also think vintage animes really play a part in my inspiration. I try not to look at too many designers so that I don't make myself like them.

Q-Tell me a little bit about your fashion label, Zozocouture.
A-Well, it basically exists for things that I like. I always keep in mind what others would like and if it’s feasible, but in general it’s a lot of dresses, capes and things that I think are art. It's so hard for me to let go and sell these things because of my love and passion for them. I’m tied to each one. When I do start selling, I guess you’re guaranteed to get my love in it :)

Q-What do you enjoy most about being a fashion designer?
A-I enjoy that I am able to make art, and people actually respect it. I also enjoy going through trial and error and adding to my knowledge of design and construction. I just really love the feeling that designing gives me. It’s like, for an alcoholic or a drug addict, designing is my drug.

Q-What is your philosophy?
A-Passion is the most important thing in anything you do, if there is no passion, there is no art.

Q-What do you hope to achieve in the next few years?
A-I hope to have my own shop, and actually get paid for modelling. I also hope to be as revered as a serious artist.

British born Constance Victoria ,22, has hit the scene with her unique and edgy fabulous photography. She posts her fantastic images on her blog , as well as items she's selling on eBay!

Q-How did you get into photography?
A-I have always been passionate about fashion and have admired fashion photography in magazines and ad campaigns. I took an evening course in black and white photography when I was 18 and learnt all the skills of working in a darkroom and using film. I loved the course so much that I decided to complete a degree in the subject and pursue it as my profession.

Q-What inspires your photography?
A-I am inspired by so many things. Obviously fashion has a great impact in what inspires me, and the work of other great photographers. Some of the ones who really inspire my style are Paolo Roversi and Tim Walker. I love their slightly eerie and fairytale like images and try to create this effect in my own work.

Q-Whats the best thing about being a photographic stylist?
A-I love creating a concept for a photoshoot and making an idea in my head come to life on the set using the location, wardrobe, models and props etc.

Q-Tell me a little about your blog..
A-I started writing the blog in the spring this year after deciding I wanted an outlet for my creative practices and to promote my work. It ended up becoming more of an outfit and personal style blog but I really enjoy creating it and I love receiving the beautiful comments from my readers!

Q-What advice would you give to aspiring photographers?
A-I would say to any aspiring photographers to have fun and be creative. It is a really hard industry to gain work in so its great to just have fun doing it and see what comes your way! I would really recommend doing a very hands on and practical course as well as it really does help to inspire and improve work once you have learned how to use different equipment and cameras.

Q-What do you hope to achieve in the next few years?
A-I would love in the future to have built up enough of a name for myself to make a living entirely from my photography - Although my dream for the future would actually be to own my own fashion boutique! I guess I have no idea what I will end up doing but I like that there is a bit of mystery and an unknown element to the future!

Jedward future fashion stars?

They entertained us for weeks on the X factor with their wacky dance moves and kooky style, but never did we think of Jedward as fashion icons.

Well, according to all the papers, that's exactly whats going to happen! Apparently they've been approached by fashion magazines Esquire and i-D Magazine, and are planning on signing deals to model for high street stores. They're also going to appear in fashion magazine Grazia this week!

A source told the Daily Mirror: "They've been inundated with requests from brands to model and perform for them. And some of them would surprise you. Big brands want a piece of Jedward and they're currently considering all the options."

I don't know about you, but this has come as a real shocker to me! I mean I really enjoyed watching Jedward on the X factor, and I found them extremely entertaining, but I just don't see them as models!

But, on the other hand, I don't think they look that bad in the picture above. They are really starting to grow on me. Nowadays anything can happen! Who knows, by next year we could be looking to Jedward for fashion advice...watch this space!

Velvet is one of the biggest trends this season, especially with designers Chloe and Alexander Wang. This classic wintery style is perfect for a simple event as well as for a fabulous one (when paired with killer heels)

Personally, I am loving flowy velvet dresses this season. I think they are really girly and glamorous and super flattering! Topshop and Miss Selfridge have a fantastic range of reasonably priced velvet dresses. Check them out!

Alesha Dixon wore a gorgeous maroon velvet dress with a waist clenching satin and sequin belt to the launch of her new jewellery range in Piccadilly yesterday.

I think the dress is really flattering, and she really looks stylish, sexy and sophisticated.

Lady GaGa has a unique sense of style. We get that. But what was she thinking turning the hard shoulder trend into a horrific fashion faux pas at her CD launch of 'The Fame Monster' yesterday??

Hard shoulders are totally in fashion and work really well paired with skinny jeans, but GaGa's exaggerated version just doesn't do the trick! It kinda looks like a padded bullet proof shield supporting her back!!

Sorry GaGa, but your outfit needs to be burned and forgotten immediately.

Looks can be deceiving

Fashion magazines are full of flawless models, but what do they look like in reality?

I found this video extremely disturbing, but at the same time really informative. I wouldn't say that the model is initially unattractive, but her transformation is epic!

It's normal for makeup and hair to make a massive difference to a womans appearance, but what really irritated me were the unnecessary changes made using Photoshop.

Thousands of girls (including myself) read these magazines and wonder 'why can't I look as perfect as...’ . It's extremely damaging to their self esteem. No wonder there has been a rise in anorexia in young girls.

Dove ( who made the video) have campaigned against this by using 'average' looking women in their adverts.

Do you think it's okay for magazines and adverts to publish images of fake but flawless looking models? What kind of a message are they giving out to easily influenced young girls?

But then again, would people really buy magazines or products if they were being advertised by 'real' women?

Kristen Stewart has won the hearts of fashionistas all over the world by flaunting her fresh, flawless and feminine look at New Moon premieres this week.

Famous for wearing converses on the red carpet, Stewart has switched to luscious louboutins and heavenly heels.

She wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta dress (right) to the LA premiere, and an elegant J Mendel dress (left) to the Paris premiere.

Kristens stylist told Grazia: "Few people understand (Kristen's) fearless when it comes to fashion.

"She's comfortable in her own style and has a natural edge to her, but when she's in the mood she likes to go elegant."

A Cambridge student caused uproar this week by posing provocatively in her underwear on Cambridge’s new tabloid website, The Tab.

The ‘Tab Totty’ section has been slammed as sexist and according to the Cambridge student union women's officer, Natalie Szarek, the images should be removed because they “reproduce and reinforce harmful attitudes towards women.”

One of the girls who modeled in the ‘Tab Totty’ section, Heidi, said: “I’d like to see myself as someone with brainpower and boobs, a pairing which I feel Cambridge culture strives to deny.”

Society seems to have a big issue comprehending that intelligent women have more to offer than just their intellect. It's either one or the other; beauty or brains! People also assume that if a woman is clever then she must have no style or fashion related knowledge. The same goes for women who dress well and love delving into the latest fashion trends; people will presume that they have no substance.

Clear examples come from the movies ‘Legally Blonde’ and ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, each in their own way initially exemplifying women as either beautiful and fashionable or ugly and intelligent, but by the end of the film having both beauty and brains. Even TV stars such as Cheryl Cole has been deemed a bimbo because of her striking looks and fashionable and trendy dress sense.

Why does society categorise women into these demeaning groups? Is society right to do so?
